ISSUE 5 - SPECIAL EDITION ACARD Limited - Cahersiveen Community Development MAY 2002

Cahersiveen Marina Ahoy!

After years of planning, anticipation, design and development, the first phase of Cahersiveen Marina and Water Activity Centre is now weeks away from receiving its first yacht.

To achieve the required water depth in the Marina of 2.5m some further localised dredging remains to be completed.

The local contractor, John Quirke Construction, has appointed a specialist company to carry out this work. It is expected that they will be on site in the Marina until the end of May.

Walcon Marine will then return to site to anchor the pontoons and fix the berthing fingers.

The electrical installation company Rolec are the final contractors to come on site to complete the services work.

The construction team are confident that the Marina will be fully operational by mid-June, by which time it will have been constructed within its €3.8million budget.

ACARD looks forward to meeting you all at the official opening, in the very near future.
Denis O’Sullivan
Chairperson, ACARD Limited
